After many years I am proud to share the mindset of excellence that will assist every parent and professional to be successful in their support specifically academically, communicatively and in the community with the A. T. T. A. R ethos of excellence.



What is NLP?

N.L.P is an abbreviation of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
 

NLP is an approach to communication, personal development and psychotherapy and was created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970’s.
 

They wanted to know the secrets of effective people and what makes them perform and accomplish things.
 

The secret formula for their success arose after observing individuals with similar education, training, background and years of experience and why they were achieving widely varying results ranging from wonderful to mediocre.
 

The creation of highly effective simple tools and techniques where established in order for everyone to become excellent and above average in their lives and more importantly be able to identify what it is that others are doing to be excellence. In simple terms Modelling excellence.

How does this relate to Autism?

 

Autism is a spectrum disorder, therefore has many levels of deficit areas despite the individuality of the child and the history around the culture, experiences and other fundamental areas to take into consideration when investigating a motive.

Thinking outside the box is essential for success as we adhere to the humanistic approach and not relate every unpredictable movement to the individual’s fixed condition. The condition is a label however; the potential and improvements can be endless with the right approach and working model.



Our behaviour is essential to make that change.  Therefore an effective change must happen within us for us to make change within Autism.  Starting with our Belief system.
